Ever feel like something is holding you back financially?

Maybe you’re doing all the right things in your business—working hard, showing up consistently—yet your income still doesn’t reflect your effort.

I’ve been there too. Often, the issue isn’t strategy or effort. It’s the mindset driving your decisions. More specifically, it’s your money mindset.

That’s why I’m starting this new Money Mindset Series—to help you discover what a biblical money mindset really is, and how it impacts every area of your finances and business.

What is money mindset?

Your money mindset is the collection of beliefs, attitudes, and perceptions you hold about money. It’s the lens through which you view:

  • earning

  • selling

  • spending

  • saving

  • giving

Every financial decision you make flows out of that lens. Which means if your mindset is shaped by fear, scarcity, or striving, you’ll feel stuck—no matter how much you’re doing.

Here’s what fascinates me: God designed our brains with neuroplasticity—the ability to adapt and change. Every thought we think creates pathways in the brain, shaping beliefs and behaviors.

That means your money mindset is not fixed. By God’s grace, it can be renewed.

Why a biblical money mindset matters

When I first began coaching, Romans 12:2 became a cornerstone for me:

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

This is the heart of a biblical money mindset—not copying the world’s way of chasing wealth or idolizing success, but allowing God to transform how we think about money.

A biblical money mindset is rooted in principles like:

  • generosity

  • contentment

  • wise stewardship

It’s about using your resources to glorify God, serve others, and walk in His calling on your life.

And as Christian entrepreneurs, we have a unique opportunity to use our businesses as a platform for kingdom impact.

What happens when you ignore your money mindset?

If you neglect the mindset piece, here’s what often happens:

  1. You limit your earning potential because fear holds you back.

  2. You avoid personal finances, leading to poor decisions.

  3. You lack confidence in selling, so you miss opportunities.

  4. You second-guess yourself constantly, losing peace.

  5. Fear of both success and failure keeps you stuck.

  6. You tie your worth to income instead of your identity in Christ.

This isn’t just frustrating—it keeps you from fully living out your calling.

Sarah’s story: from freezing on sales calls to confidence

One of my clients, Sarah, came to me with a strong scarcity money mindset. On paper, her business was ready to grow, but she froze every time she got on a sales call. She was terrified to share her price, convinced that no one could afford her services.

The result? She avoided selling altogether, which left her frustrated and anxious.

Through the F.L.I.P. the Table Method, we worked on uncovering the money blocks driving her fear. Together, we:

  • Found the root: Sarah realized her fear of “being too expensive” came from childhood experiences where money always felt scarce.

  • Leaned on God: She began to rest in the truth that He is her Provider, not the potential client.

  • Instilled new thoughts and habits: We replaced the lie “No one can afford me” with Scripture and new habits rooted in God’s Word.

  • Pursued God over money: She shifted her focus from closing the sale to serving the person in front of her.

The transformation was remarkable. Sarah went from freezing on sales calls to confidently sharing her offers, knowing that her worth isn’t tied to someone else’s “yes” or “no.”

She now sells with peace, serves with joy, and continues to grow her business while keeping her eyes fixed on Christ.

This is the power of having a biblical money mindset.

Renewing your money mindset with god’s truth

Changing your money mindset begins with identifying the blocks and lies you’ve believed, then replacing them with biblical truth.

This is spiritual work. As Paul reminds us, our battle is not against flesh and blood but against strongholds (Eph. 6:12). The enemy wants to distract, discourage, and lead us into copying the world.

That’s why shifting to a biblical money mindset is about more than positive thinking. It’s about:

  • taking every thought captive (2 Cor. 10:5)

  • submitting it to Christ

  • trusting God’s provision and plan over our own striving

When you let God renew your mind, fear and shame lose their grip, and you begin to steward money with freedom and peace.

Stepping into financial confidence

Your mindset shapes your money story. But the good news is—you’re not stuck. With God’s help, you can break free from scarcity, fear, and striving.

That’s exactly why I created my 90-Day Financially Confident Program. Inside, I help Christian women uncover hidden money blocks, renew their minds with God’s Word, and build fun, sustainable money habits.

Because financial stewardship doesn’t have to be stressful—it can be joyful when your heart is aligned with Christ.

To recap

  • Your money mindset is the lens through which you view and handle money.

  • A biblical money mindset aligns your thoughts with God’s truth, focusing on stewardship, generosity, and contentment.

  • Ignoring your mindset leads to fear, avoidance, and missed opportunities.

  • With God’s help, you can renew your mind and step into financial confidence.
