From Hesitation to Stewardship: 7 Steps to a Biblical Money Mindset for Entrepreneurs

Do you ever feel a "freeze" the moment you need to talk about your prices?
Maybe you’ve noticed a pattern: you procrastinate on creating sales content, ignore your bank statements, or feel a knot of guilt whenever you think about earning more.
If you’ve been searching for the "perfect" spreadsheet to fix the problem, I have a truth for you: You don’t have a budgeting problem. You have a belief problem.
One of my clients, Sarah, came to me trapped in this exact cycle. Her scarcity mindset made her catastrophize every number, leading to deep anxiety that kept her from growing her business.
She wasn't lazy; she was stuck in a pattern of fear [Watch how she moved past her money blocks here]
Fast forward through our work in Biblical Money Mindset Discipleship: she now approaches her finances with peace, sells with authority, and loves stewarding the resources God has entrusted to her.
If you’re ready to stop spiraling in hesitation and start operating in your calling, here are the 7 essential shifts to renew your relationship with money.
1. Identify the Root Patterns (Beyond the Budget)
Before you can effectively apply a business strategy, you must identify the internal patterns stopping you.
Do you avoid your finances because you're afraid of what you'll see?
Do you freeze on sales calls because you equate your worth with your income?
In my F.L.I.P. the Table Method, we don't start with math; we start with the heart. Identifying the problem isn’t about shame—it’s about clarity. Once you see the root (fear, pride, or worldly pressure), you can bring it to God for renewal.
2. Forgive the Past and Start Fresh
Many Christian women carry "financial baggage"—debt, past business failures, or missed opportunities. But your past does not define your identity in Christ.
Proverbs 2:6 tells us that the Lord gives wisdom. Today, you can choose to forgive yourself for past "mistakes" and step forward.
Remember: Stewardship isn’t about where you’ve been; it’s about how faithfully you think and act with what He has entrusted to you now.
3. Renew Your Mind with God’s Truth (Romans 12:2)
A Biblical Money Mindset requires a total transformation of your thinking.
If you believe that "money is the root of all evil" (misquoting Scripture) or that "wanting more is greedy," you will subconsciously sabotage your sales.
We must replace these lies with biblical truth: Money is a tool.
When your mind is renewed, you realize that earning more allows you to give more and serve more.
You move from striving to obedience.
4. Move from "I Have To" to "I Get To"
When I was cleaning toilets and sorting mail to pay off $250,000 in debt once I move to NZ, I had to make a choice.
I could live in resentment, or I could embrace gratitude.
Shift your language. Instead of "I have to look at these scary numbers," try "I get to steward these resources for God’s glory."
This simple shift reframes your business tasks from a burden to an act of worship.
5. Set E.P.I.C. Christ-Led Goals
Most entrepreneurs set goals based on worldly pressure.
I teach my clients to set E.P.I.C. goals: Empowering, Precise, In-season, and Christ-led.
When your business goals are aligned with your calling, the "fear of success" disappears because you aren't building your own kingdom—you're building His.
6. Audit Your Financial Patterns
It’s time to look at the "Why."
Why do you procrastinate on promoting your offer?
Why do you fear earning "too much"?
Often, these are deep-rooted money blocks that strategy alone cannot fix.
When you understand why you ignore your finances, you gain the power to stop the cycle.
7. Build Habits Rooted in Peace, Not Pressure
Transformation happens in the small, daily actions.
Instead of trying to overhaul your entire business overnight, focus on "Elastic Habits"—tiny, flexible steps that build confidence.
Whether it's spending 5 minutes a day reviewing your numbers or praying over your sales calls, these habits train your brain to feel safe with money.
Eventually, money begins to feel light, safe, and yes... even fun.
