Not sure what’s really driving your money habits?
Take the quiz to uncover your money mindset type and your next step: here
You didn’t start your business to feel stressed about money.
You started because you felt God calling you to serve, to help people, to make a difference.
But when it comes to your finances… something feels off.
You might notice:
You avoid checking your numbers
You feel anxious when you think about money
You put off financial tasks until they become urgent
You tell yourself you’ll “deal with it later”
And when you do sit down to look at your finances, it feels heavy. If that’s you, you’re not alone.
But more importantly—this isn’t just a discipline issue.
What’s really behind financial avoidance
Avoiding your finances is rarely about laziness. It’s usually rooted in fear and belief patterns.
You might be thinking:
“What if I don’t have enough?”
“What if I’ve messed things up?”
“What if I’m not good with money?”
“What does this say about me if my numbers aren’t where they should be?”
For many Christian women, there’s another layer:
Feeling uncomfortable with money
Associating financial success with pride or greed
Not knowing how to reconcile faith and finances
So instead of facing it, you avoid it.
And for a moment, that avoidance feels easier.
But over time, it creates:
more stress
more confusion
and less clarity
Avoidance doesn’t remove the pressure—it quietly increases it.
Why avoiding your finances keeps you stuck
Avoidance doesn’t just affect your numbers.
It affects how you:
run your business
make decisions
show up in selling
steward what God has entrusted to you
You can have the best tools, apps, or strategies… But if you have a bad relationship with money and you’re not engaging with your numbers, nothing changes.
Avoidance keeps you:
reactive instead of intentional
uncertain instead of confident
stuck instead of moving forward
As Scripture reminds us:
“Know well the condition of your flocks, and give attention to your herds…” — Proverbs 27:23 (ESV)
In biblical times, flocks represented wealth.
The principle is clear: You can’t steward what you refuse to look at
The Real shift: From Avoidance to Stewardship
The solution isn’t just “try harder” or “be more disciplined.” It starts with a heart shift.
Instead of: “I don’t want to look at my finances”
You begin to say: “I want to steward what God has given me faithfully”

This changes everything.
Stewardship isn’t about perfection. It’s about faithful attention.
How to Start Facing Your Finances (Without Overwhelm)
You don’t need to fix everything today.
You just need to start.
Here are simple steps to help you move forward:
1. Identify what you’re actually afraid of
Be honest.
Is it:
not enough money?
feeling like a failure?
not knowing what to do?
Clarity removes some of the power fear has over you.
This is the "F" in my F.L.I.P. method—Finding the blocks. Clarity removes the power fear has over you.
2. Create a set time to review your finances
Instead of reacting under pressure, be intentional.
Set a weekly “money date” where you:
look at your numbers
pray over your finances
make small decisions
This turns money into a fun routine, not a crisis.
3. Start Small
You don’t need to review everything.
Start with:
your bank balance
one account
one category
Small steps build confidence.
4. Invite God into the process
Before you look at your numbers:
pray
worship
slow down your thoughts
You are not doing this alone. God is not a God of confusion, but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33).
5. Replace Avoidance with Truth
Avoidance is often fueled by false beliefs.
You begin to renew your mind with truth:
God is your provider
You are called to steward, not control
Growth is possible
This is where real change begins.

FAQs About Financial Avoidance and Stewardship
Why do I feel anxious about my finances as a Christian?
Because money is often tied to fear, identity, and past experiences—not just numbers. In my Christian money mindset coaching, we look at the root beliefs that cause this anxiety so you can move from a place of "panic" to a place of "peace."
Is avoiding my finances a sin or a lack of faith?
Avoidance itself isn’t a sin, but Scripture calls us to faithful stewardship, which requires awareness. Avoiding your numbers is usually a sign that your heart is operating from fear rather than trust. Facing them is an act of faith that God is your provider.
How can I stop financial avoidance in my business?
The shift happens when you move from "math" to "mastery." By using a biblical money mindset, you can replace the physical "spiral" of avoidance with small, prayerful habits. You don’t need to be a math expert; you just need to be a faithful steward.
Does facing my finances mean I have to use complex spreadsheets?
No. My approach to money mindset discipleship doesn't focus on restrictive budgets or complicated spreadsheets. We focus on the Fun money habits and beliefs that make "checking the numbers" a quick, 10-minute routine that feels light and manageable.
