Why Selling feels uncomfortable as a christian female entrepreneur (and what’s really going on in your heart)

Not sure what’s holding you back from selling with confidence?
You know you need to sell.
You believe in what you offer.
You want to serve your clients well.
But when it’s time to actually sell—something shifts.
You hesitate
You overthink what to say
You feel uncomfortable talking about your price
You replay conversations in your mind afterward
And sometimes, one comment can send you into a spiral: “It’s too expensive.”
I’ve shared more on this topic in a recent blog post "How to Stop Spiralling as a Christian Entrepreneur When Clients Say “It’s Too Expensive"
The Moment Selling Starts to Feel Heavy
You finish a sales call feeling hopeful.
Then the client says: “I really want to work with you… but it’s too expensive. I’ll think about it.”
And almost instantly, your thoughts shift:
“Did I charge too much for my offer?”
“Should I offer a discount?”
“Maybe I’m not good enough”
“Am I being a bad Christian for charging this?”
What was a normal sales conversation suddenly feels personal.
Watch: Moving from "Fear" to Faithful Stewardship
Sometimes the fear of rejection is so loud that we give our work away for free just to avoid the "money talk." In this video, Sarah shares how she used to stay stuck in "free" sales calls and how shifting her mindset allowed her to finally charge what her offer was worth with peace.
The Real reason selling feels uncomfortable
Selling doesn’t feel hard because you don’t know what to say.
It feels hard because of what’s happening in your heart and mind.
Underneath the discomfort, there’s often:
fear of rejection or being misunderstood
fear of charging “too much” for your offer
fear of not being enough
For many Christian women, there’s an added tension:
wanting to serve vs. fear of being “too focused on money”
wanting to earn vs. fear of becoming greedy
wanting to grow vs. fear of doing it in your own strength
So when someone says no, it doesn’t just feel like a business moment.
It feels like a reflection of:
your worth
your calling
your faith
The Spiral that keeps you stuck
You start questioning everything. You lower your price. Y
ou offer more than you planned. You try to make it easier for them to say yes.
But instead of feeling peace, you feel drained, resentful, and unsure. You’re no longer selling—you’re trying to avoid rejection and control the outcome.
What’s really going on in your heart
This is the part most people miss. It’s not about the price.
It’s not even about the client. It’s about what their “no” means to you.
It often sounds like:
“A no means I’m not good enough.”
“A no means I’m doing something wrong.”
“A no means God isn’t providing.”
“A no means I need to fix something immediately.”
Those beliefs will shape how you sell—every time. Unless you renew them.
The Shift: From fear to faith in selling
A client’s “no” is not your failure.
Your role is not to convince.
Your role is to:
show up
serve clearly
and steward the opportunity faithfully
You are not responsible for the outcome.
A Simple question that changes everything
The next time you feel that discomfort rising, pause and ask: “Am I reacting from fear or responding from faith?”
That one question will help you:
slow down
step out of the spiral
and choose your next move with intention
How to actually change this pattern
This is the work I walk my clients through using my F.L.I.P. The Table™ Method:
Find the money block
→ Identify the thought driving your reaction
Lean on God
→ Anchor in who He is as Provider
Instill new thoughts and habits
→ Replace fear-based thinking with truth and aligned action
Pursue God over money
→ Let your confidence come from Him—not the sale
This is how you move from:
reacting emotionally to
responding with clarity and peace

Your Next Step
If selling has been feeling uncomfortable, don’t ignore it.
There’s something deeper shaping that experience.
➜ Step 1: Take the Money Mindset Quiz to identify your type and what’s keeping you stuck.
➜ Step 2: Book a Free Clarity Call if you're ready to stop hiding and start stewarding with peace.
I am looking forward to talking with you.
Take care

FAQs About Selling with Confidence
Why do Christian entrepreneurs feel guilty about their prices?
Guilt often comes from a misunderstanding of service. When you focus on charging what the offer is worth, you are actually stewarding your business so you can continue to serve others sustainably.
How do I handle a client saying "It's too expensive"?
When you hear this, remember that a "no" is not a reflection of your faith or your worth. It is simply information about that client's current capacity or timing. Stay grounded in peace and trust God with the outcome.
