Would you feel great if all your bills were paid without any stress? I thought so….
I know what you are thinking right now. Finances aren’t fun.
Perhaps you don’t like tracking expenses, keeping tabs on credit card balances, and having to pay all those bills. Maybe as a christian female entrepreneur you believe that money is evil! My clients used to think that way too….not any more!
What we are about to talk about includes having a vision for your money, discovering your money personality, having a strong relationship with money, and even going on a date with money. Does that sound interesting to you?
Let me show you how to transform managing money from being a pain in the rear, to money matters ACTUALLY BEING FUN as a Christian!
It’s easier than you think, here’s how..
1- What is your vision for your money?
When you receive money, what do you want that money to do in your business, or your life?
Do you want to reinvest in your business, do you want to give more, do you want to take a nice vacation with your family? Do you want to pay off your debt?
WHAT DO YOU WANT YOUR MONEY TO DO FOR YOU?
This is a very important question, because many don’t really know why or how you spend your money. By the end of the month you feel like you work so hard but have nothing to show for it.
You get paid, then you may pay the bills, buy lunch and coffee, a new dress, tickets for a show and that routine is pretty much on repeat. Spending the way you do has simply become a habit.
So if you want to change your spending habits you must know what you want to do with your money first. Have you ask God how He wants you to steward his money?
At the end of the day, we are God's money manager here on earth!
Look, the highest heavens and the earth and everything in it all belong to the Lord your God. Deuteronomy 10:14
The 1st reason I found managing money fun and exciting even when I had debt is because I give every dollar a purpose.
When I receive money I set an intention and think about how this money can help me have a bigger impact in the kingdom, my business and create the lifestyle of my dreams!
It is not how much you earn that matters but it is what you do with it that counts.
You will start to feel excited about managing your money when you know that you are using it to create a lifestyle you love and you are impacting the kingdom of God.
We work hard for our money so now it is time for our money to work hard for us.
If you don't know what you want money to do for you, take some time to pray and journal about it!
Example: I want to be on the beach and work wherever I want and whenever! I want!
2 - What is your money personality
We are all so different! We have different habits and emotions attached to money.
So when I think about managing and creating a spending plan for my money I want it to be fun and easy for me.
And to do that, I need to work with who I am deep down instead of trying to be someone I am not.
Your finance is personal and I don’t think one size fits all.
I am someone who likes planning so having a detailed plan for my money makes me happy.
On the other hand, you could be very carefree or spontaneous so you need to create a system where your money is taken care of automatically. Sounds like a a good plan, right?
As you realised that you are someone who doesn’t like to manage your money, it is really a game changer knowing that in the background you are looking after your priorities automatically.
Once you know your money personality, you can create fun money habits that help you live well within your means .
There are 5 most common money personalities or so called HABITUDES.
Status, Planning, Giving, Carefree, Spontaneous and Secure
I will talk about it in more details soon. So be sure to come back.
3- Strong Money relationship
Who has a love hate relationship with money? Many of my clients do!
They want to be successful because they want to give more and take care of their family but at the same time they are scared of money.
They want more of it in their life but they keep ignoring it or pushing it away.
If you want to have fun managing your money you need to build a good relationship with it.
You need to think of it as a friend and not your enemy.
How will you build a strong relationship with a friend ?
Well, you will make sure you get together so you can learn more about her and be there for her when she needs you the most.
It is the same with your money. When you are in trouble, your money can be there to help you with that emergency fund.
It can help you have amazing experiences, booking a vacation.
It can help you make an impact by giving more to others.
If you know you have a negative relationship with money, you need to first be aware of your limiting beliefs about it.

Then you will feel confident looking at your numbers, and steward your money wisely.
Managing money is actually looking after yourself, the kingdom of God, your business, your family and your future
So having the discipline to look after your money each week is actually being a good steward.
4- Money date
I like to track my expenses and sales for 10 min every 2 days at night or first thing in the morning. I have a special spreadsheet that helps me do it in a fun and easy way.
Then at the end of the week, I will schedule some quality time to see how my business finance and personal finance are going and plan the next week.
I make my money date very special so it is something I am looking forward to doing at the end of the week.
It can be very overwhelming for many at first, so you need to be in the right state of mind before we start.
Here is what I do
Pray for peace and strengths
Put my favourite worship music on, I like to dance a little before I start and leave the music on in the background or have my headphones on
I have a nice drink close by
I set my intention and focus on the task at hand.
You could put youtube video on psalms and God promises,
You need to do what will help you feel confident and happy by the end of this exercise.
Then, to make it even better and help you create a fun money habit, you need to reward yourself for doing such a great job. That is the key to money date success!
This will look different for everyone but for me after my money date.
You could simply:
Tick you habit tracker
Say at loud, God Job
Watch my favourite show,
Eat 2 squares of chocolate,
Take time to read a book
learn something new
or even go in the bath with a mask on and listen to an audio book.
Do something that will reinforce the fact that managing money means something fun.
In your mind I want you to think: “Money date” equals self love and me time.
I hope you will be able to soon associate “Money date” with”: I am a good steward and I will get my favourite xx afterward ….”
Next time you are stuck and feel overwhelmed about managing your money, try to create a positive atmosphere before you start.
Please remember, money is just numbers. So if you find it difficult and hard it may be because of the perspective and the meaning you have attached to money.
What you think about money will become an emotion, good or bad.
You need to realise that this feeling started in your head.
Golden rule to remember, Money is a tool and it is not evil. It is a tool to glorify God and to help you create the lifestyle you want.
REMEMBER, you have the power to tell it where it should go. You are in charge and you can make managing money very simple and fun too.
So think about what you want your money to do for you, realise that you should create a plan that fits your personality, treat money as a tool and your friend and schedule some quality time for your next Money date with God.
So that’s about it. It is actually easier and far more fun than you think. My clients call me the "Fun money coach" as I make managing money fun.
