Managing Money is fun and easy

Would you feel great if all your bills were paid without any stress? I thought so….

I know what you are thinking right now. Finances aren’t fun.

Perhaps you don’t like tracking expenses and keeping tabs on credit card balances, and having to pay all those bills. I used to think that way too….not any more!

What we are about to talk about includes having a vision for your money, discovering your money personality, having a strong relationship with money, and even going on a date with money. Does that sound interesting to you?

Let me show you how to transform managing money from being a pain in the rear, to money matters ACTUALLY BEING FUN!

It’s easier than you think, here’s how..

1- What is your vision for your money?

When you receive money, what do you want that money to do in your business or your life?

Do you want to reinvest in your business, do you want to give more, do you want to take a nice vacation with your family? Do you want to pay off your debt?

This is a very important question, because many of us, don’t really know why or how we spend our money. By the end of the month we feel like we work so hard but have nothing to show for it.

You get paid, then you pay the bills, buy lunch and coffee, a new dress, tickets for a show and that routine is pretty much on repeat. Spending the way you do has simply become a habit.

So if you want to change your spending habits you must know what you want to do with your money first.

The 1st reason I found managing money fun and exciting even when I had debt is because I give every dollar a purpose.

When I receive money I set an intention and think about how this money can help me have a bigger impact in my business and create the lifestyle of my dreams!

It is not how much you earn that matters but it is what you do with it that counts.

You will start to feel excited about managing your money when you know that you are using it to create a lifestyle you love.

We work hard for our money so now it is time for our money to work hard for us.

If you don't know what you want money to do for you, take some time to journal about it!

Example: I want to be on the beach and work wherever I want and whenever! I want!

I want freedom

2 - What is your money personality

We are all so different! We have different habits and emotions attached to money.

So when I think about managing and creating a spending plan for my money I want it to be fun and easy for me.

And to do that, I need to work with who I am deep down instead of trying to be someone I am not.

Your finance is personal and I don’t think one size fits all.

I am someone who likes planning so having a detailed plan for my money makes me happy.

On the other hand, you could be very carefree or spontaneous so we need to create a system where your money is taken care of automatically. Sounds like a a good plan, right?

As you realised that you are someone who doesn’t like to manage your money, it is really a game changer knowing that in the background you are looking after your priorities automatically.

Once you know your money personality, you can create fun money habits that help you live well within your means .

There are 5 most common money personalities or so called HABITUDES.

Status, Planning, Giving, Carefree, Spontaneous and Secure

I will talk about it in more details soon. So be sure to come back here.

3- Strong Money relationship

Who has a love hate relationship with money?

We want more of it in our life but we keep ignoring it or pushing it away.

If we want to have fun managing our money we need to build a good relationship with it.

We need to think of it as a friend and not your enemy.

If you want to build a loving and strong relationship with a friend what will you do?

Well, I will call my friend, I will make sure we get together so I can learn more about her and be there for her when she needs me the most.

It is the same with your money. When you are in trouble, your money can be there to help you with that emergency fund. It can help you have amazing experiences, booking a vacation or make an impact by giving more to others.

So it is really simple, to have a better relationship with your money, you need to take the time to learn about it, spend quality time with it and stop ignoring it.

Managing money is actually looking after yourself, your business, your family and your future

Plus we also need to understand and reframe our limiting belief about money. Why are you acting or feeling a certain way? What are the triggers and where those beliefs come from? I will write about the 4 habits to remove money block soon so you can go from a scarcity mindset to an abundant mindset.

So having the discipline to look after your money each week is actually self love.

4- Money date

I like to track my expenses and sales for 10 min every 2 days at night or first thing in the morning. I have a special spreadsheet that helps me do it in a fun and easy way.

It is my fun Money Business spreadsheet and it is all automated. I love it.

Then at the end of the week, I will schedule some quality time to see how my business finance and personal finance are going and plan the next week.

I make my money date very special so it is something I am looking forward to doing at the end of the week.

It can be very overwhelming for many at first, so we need to be in the right state of mind before we start.

Here is what I do

  • Put my favorite music on, I will dance a little before I start and leave the music on in the background or have my headphones on

  • I have a nice drink close by

  • I set my intention and focus on the task at hand.

  • You could put some motivational youtube video, the one that says things like I am confident, I can do anything etc

  • You do you boo :-)

You need to do what will help you feel confident and happy.

Then, to make it even better and help you create a fun money habit, you need to reward yourself for doing such a great job. The key to money date success!

This will look different for everyone but for me after my money date, I will watch my favorite show, or I will eat 2 squares of chocolate, I will take time to read a book or learn something new and sometimes I even go in the bath with a mask on and listen to an audio book.

In your mind I want you to think: “Money date” equals self love and me time.

I hope you will be able to soon associate “Money date” with”: I will get my favorite ….”

Next time you are stuck and feel overwhelmed about managing your money, try to create a positive atmosphere before you start.

Please remember, money is just numbers. So if you find it difficult and hard it may be because of the perspective and the meaning you have attached to money.

What you think about money will become an emotion, good or bad.

You need to realise that it all starts in your head.

Gold rule to remember, Money is a tool to help you create the lifestyle you want and you have the power to tell it where it should go. You are in charge and you can make managing money very simple and fun too.

So think about what you want your money to do for you, realise that you should create a plan that fits your personality, treat money as your friend and schedule some quality time for your next Money date.

So that’s about it. It is actually easier and far more fun than you think. I’m excited to hear about your vision for money, and how things are shaping up on your dates with money.

Feel free to share them with me at Fun Money Habits on my facebook page.

I am looking forward to hearing from you.

You take care.
